Annual Exhibits

Quilting & Needlework Show

After more than 30 years, it's still going strong, with as many as 100 quilts filling the galleries with warmth and color. In addition to taking in the show, Quilt Show visitors can also join in special lectures and presentations about quilts, their history, caring and hanging them and much more. For 2016, we have expanded the show to include needle work! Be sure to attend in February and see how this craft has evolved over the years!

Youth Art Show

The MonDak Heritage Center hosts an annual Youth Art Show  to encourage young artists to pursue their talents and to give them a place to display their works. Sponsors for the show also provide prize money. Participating students range from middle school to high school age, and their artwork includes drawings, color graphics, sculpture, and mixed media. A reception for the young artists is typically held. For details on how to enter, please see our youth art prospectus.  We also typically hold an annual Youth Music Showcase during the Youth Art Show.

Miniature Art Show

Another very popular show at the MonDak is its annual Miniature Art Show. Drawing entries form across the nation and across the world, the show is an amazing display of fine detail on a tiny scale. When viewing the miniature art, the first inclination is to lean in, squint, and look closer. To aid viewers the museum provides magnifiers to help visitors appreciate the true artistry found in these small gems. See how theses paintings stand up to the closest inspection and you will appreciate the intricacy and exquisite detail of this art form exhibited each winter at MDHC. 2016 Miniature Art Prospectus.
