The exhibition features photographs that engage viewers with late 20th-century Native American culture on the northern plains and illustrate the beauty and challenges of reservation life and lands. The MonDak digs into its own collections for the Signs of the Times exhibition, featuring commercial signs of regional businesses hand-painted by artist J. K. Ralston. Ralston painted the signs in the 1930s to help raise funds for a local town hall. The MonDak Historical & Art Society received the signs as a donation in the 1970s and sold some of them for its own fundraising purposes.
